THE LAWYER SHOW

One of Vancouver’s most exciting legal events and a valued tradition, The Lawyer Show is the signature fundraising event for Touchstone Theatre, a long-standing cultural institution and registered charity. Every spring, an ensemble of lawyers take to the boards to prove that acting and the practice of law have way too much in common. Lines are learned, songs are sung, audiences applaud – and fun and friendship abound along the way! Funds raised from The Lawyer Show support Touchstone Theatre’s award-winning artistic programming, outreach activities, and new play development initiatives. 

Now in its 22nd year, The Lawyer Show is an outstanding model of how the business + arts sector can work together for mutual benefit and has been replicated in several cities and professions. Historically, a fundraising tradition conducted in partnership with Carousel Theatre, and previous to that the Arts Club Theatre Company, Touchstone Theatre is now flying solo with the annual event and excited for the productions ahead.

We want to send a huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to the sold-out run of the 2023 Lawyer Show! To the incredible cast, crew, creative team, and the amazing sponsors and volunteers who brought so much dedication and care to this massive fundraising event – we are in gratitude.

In total, our cast and band of lawyers + professionals put in a whopping 3400 volunteer hours! Now, that’s devotion! With your support, The Lawyer Show grossed over $100,000 with Touchstone netting $35,000 after expenses. This money will go directly to supporting the future work of Canadian theatre creators. Thank you so much for supporting local performing arts and bringing all that ABBA-loving energy! We couldn’t have done it without YOU!
